The Latest Brunch Spots In 2017

The brunch scene in Perth is buzzing, and it’s happening faster than you can say maple syrup flavoured bacon. But with new openings popping up all over the place, it can be a little hard to catch up. Luckily I’ve come up with a list of newbies for you and your fellow brunch addicts to hit up.

Open Plan

If there’s one thing North Perth lacks it’s decent coffee. Thankfully, this little gem has graced NP with its presence, serving up in-house roasted coffee and all day breakfast. The guys here have done a complete 360 on the layout, with a fresh new open plan look. Food wise, the menu’s full of the favourites, baked eggs with chorizo, soldiers with a boiled egg and dukka and of course avo smash. For dairy-free coffee, there’s soy and almond milk, and for the few that aren’t caffeine addicts, they make a mean matcha chai latte.

Someday Coffee Co

Someday Coffee Co is the perfect fit for Floreat. Besides the fact they brew up some seriously smooth coffee, they’re also pumping out drool-worthy breakfasts. Think pimped up toast, Mexican beans and pancake stacks that will have you in a food coma for days. Vegans won’t be missing out on the good stuff here either, with the menu offering up something for everyone. The beans are supplied by Perth-based Micrology Coffee Roasters, and their coffee machine is treated like royalty. But if you’ve reached your coffee quota for the day, the drinks menu is overflowing with turmeric and chai lattes aplenty and Kommunity Brew Kombucha.

Tom Dick And Harry’s

All day breakfast and great coffee, what could be better than that you ask. Well, this new joint in Mt Hawthorn also allows pups, so you can rock up in the afternoon, order poached eggs on rye with a side of bacon and enjoy a hot latte with your best mate by your side. Whether you’re after a coffee, matcha latte or acai smoothie bowls, you can enjoy it all, all damn day.

144 Scarborough Beach Rd, Mt Hawthorn

In the heart of Subiaco, Venery is serving up some of the best coffee the ‘burb has to offer. It’s rumored that they’re one of the first cafes in the world to debute a fancy revolutionary coffee machine with milk frothing technology that promises to deliver only the best coffee every single time. If that’s not enough reason to visit, perhaps their jaffles will lure you in. I highly recommend you get yourself there ASAP.

420 Hay Street, Perth

96 Degrees

If you were ever chasing down Perth’s best Nitrogen infused cold drip, then you need to head over to 96 Degrees. This little café is new to Flora Terrace in North Beach, and specializes in all types of coffee. The team here share a common interest: coffee. After drinking cup after cup, they’ve finally perfected their blend thus opening their doors to the people of Perth. And if you love their coffee that much, take home a bag of beans and test out your coffee making skills.

117C Flora Terrace, North Beach

Violet Banks

Whether you refer to it as Oxfort Street, North End or Mt Hawthorn, Violet Banks has opened its doors on the popular café strip. They serve up one heck of a coffee, with only the best beans from Leftfield Coffee Roasters. The coffee goes down a treat with their warm peach and choc chip muffins. But if you’re hungry for something more delectable, go for the ham and three-cheese béchamel sourdough toastie. Is it lunchtime yet??
